Document Preparation

There are many documents that businesses and individuals need to file with state and federal agencies.  If you wish to start a business, there are forms to get a federal tax ID number and forms to chose a certain status.  Then there are state forms such as registering for a withholding permit in every state you have employees, for unemployment in the state or states where the business resides,  for sales tax permits, for a business entity, for a business license, and for necessary permits.  Sometimes these also exist on the local level.

If you already have a business, most of the above registration forms have regular returns that need to be submitted.  And that is not to even mention income taxes.

Kairos Advising is here to help you.  We can prepare the documents below and alleviate that burden for you.  If there is a form you need that is not listed here, please email us and we will quote you a price to prepare it.

IRS Form SS-4: Application for Employer Identification Number.  This form will register your business with the IRS and will result in your business being issued an Employer Identification Number.  This number will be needed on all federal payroll tax returns, W-2s, federal income tax returns, and most state forms and tax returns.  This is an essential number for your business.  In most cases we can get this information from the IRS in a few hours. $75

IRS Form 2848: Power of Attorney.  If you need someone to represent you before the IRS, then you will need this form completed and sent to the IRS to let them know they can communicate with this other person.  Unless this form is filed, the IRS will ONLY speak with the individuals listed on a given filing.  Not even your CPA or attorney can speak to the IRS on your behalf unless this form is filed.  Generally speaking, the only people allowed to represent you before the IRS are an attorney, a CPA, a family member (if this is a personal matter), and a full-time employee (if this is a business matter).

IRS Form 2553: Election by a Small Business Corporation.  If you have incorporated and decided to become a subchapter S corporation, you must file this form with the IRS as soon as possible.  You can enter most of the information on the next screen.  We will need additional information, but the next screen will get it started.  Once completed, we will need to send the form to you for signatures. $95

State Payroll Tax Registration.  If you have employees, you will need to register with the state in which an employee lives to file a payroll tax return.

State Unemployment Registration.  If you have employees, you will need to register with the unemployment office in order to pay unemployment taxes.

State Sales Tax Registration.  If you have to collect sales tax from your customers on the goods and services sold, you will need to register with the state department of revenue to get a sales tax number.
